Anne Lastinger was the first choral director at Milton High School, taking charge when choral music was formally added to the curriculum in 1951. She also taught Spelling and Mathematics during her time at Milton. Ms. Lastinger is credited with growing the music program from seventy-five students to one hundred and fifteen (27% of the student body). During her tenure, the Milton Choral program grew to six total choirs: two mixed choirs, a boys choir, a girls choir, 8th Grade chorus, and a small ensemble.
